Last week I took these two paintings to the @mobmuseumofart for their installation at the upcoming show in Government Plaza! I’m deeply honored to be a part of it. It will be up from December 5 of this year through June 8, 2025!

Daydream #4, oil on canvas, 30x24 inches Sunlight lifts my mood. Sometimes I talk about how beautiful the sunlight is and I know how air headed that sounds, but it’s really true for me. The past weeks have been so hard and when the sun breaks through the clouds, it gives me a moment to catch my breath and appreciate the beauty around me. That’s what this series is about: how magical the sunlight is 🌞

UPS came earlier than expected. I’m thrilled to @have my first Annieo Klaas painting. Part of a trade we worked out together. My first major piece in my efforts to be building what I hope to be a major collection. Thank you Annieo for helping me get started. I absolutely love this piece!

Some detail pics of my painting : “Daydream no. 1”. I like using the word “daydream “ for the title because it’s what I do when I look out a window, especially when the afternoon light hits it like this 🌞. It also fits with the feel of magical realism in this painting where certain things are real and others are possibly imagined: the window frame is recognizable as a window frame, but the sun plays with the shadows in the curtain so that they are distorted and unrecognizable. Their colors are fantastical and exaggerated. The shapes take on a life of their own✨ 30x24 inches, oil on panel, Available.

I love the idea of painting curtains that are reflecting the distorted shadows from the world outside because it takes something recognizable and blends it with things that have become abstract. The whole thing becomes an ethereal experience that is based in reality but takes the viewer someplace magical ✨ 30x24 inches, oil on canvas. Available.

My friend’s fiancé commissioned a painting from me as his wedding present to her. It was full of symbolism about their relationship and his love for her. So sweet!🥹

My school’s advisor retired this year and the dean of my campus commissioned a painting for her! I was honored to be asked to paint it because this lady is so well-loved by the people on my campus. She’d been working there since the campus was established about 17 years ago. I go to Auburn University’s Harrison School of Pharmacy, at their satellite campus in Mobile, which is at the University of South Alabama. I’m in my final (fourth) year now!

I was super excited to be asked to make this painting of my school building for the advisor at my school! She’d been working there since the campus was established about 17 years ago, and the faculty commissioned this painting for her as a sweet retirement gift. I go to Auburn University’s Harrison School of Pharmacy, at their satellite campus in Mobile, which is at the University of South Alabama. I’m in my final (fourth) year now!

These spectacular clouds are available for sale at Sophiella Gallery in downtown Mobile-and artwalk is tonight! A little bit of history on this painting: It was created for Courtney Matthews’s “Neu Dawn 6” exhibition last December, where it was paired with Velerie Iliff’s stunning costume design (pictures # 2 and 3). Then it was invited to be a part of the Fifth LaGrange Regional exhibition at the Lagrange Art Museum where it won 4th place in the People’s Choice Award!! (Picture #4) “In Spite of it All”, 48 inches wide by 84 inches high, mixed media on canvas. I named this painting “In Spite of it All” because the theme for the Neu Dawn show was finding your own pathway through life’s red lights to freedom (with “Red Lights” by SAULT as the theme song) and the show date was in the middle of a bunch of other things I had going on- my little brother’s wedding, pharmacy school exams, and getting ready for my own solo show the following month- but it was a show I had dreamed of participating in for almost a year and so I decided to go for it. I knew I would be so sad if I passed up the opportunity to participate. And I’m so glad I did! This is my favorite painting of mine right now. I hope it finds a fantastic home ⛅️
